Christmas is coming...

The Goose is getting fat. (Christmas means Carnage!)

The children are all snuggled warm in their bed.

While visions of sugarplums dance in their head(s).

Will I settle down for a long, winter's nap?

Winter is coming

Here I am all wrapped up for winter...in my Icelandic fleece and Jester's hat - don't I just look adorable?

Mom and Dad are very impressed with my newfound ability to "almost situp"
Yes - I can follow you with my eyes...and you look funny.

Wow - all this smiling and kicking my legs around sure does make me tired.

entre las sombras del otoño

It's a beautiful time of the year amongst the shadows or jumping in the leaves.

with a smile as cute as this, will my parents really be able to ask me to rake the leaves next year? (You bet)

Injections make me sleepy and mom and dad happy

I went to the doctor yesterday - he says I am healthy - so all the crying is probably just colic and will go away one of these days. I weighed in at 11 and a half pounds - my mom says I have chubby legs!! I also had four vaccinations - they made me cry really hard for about a minute and since then I have been really sleepy...which seems to make everyone here happy.
Mom took these pictures of me and dad today...she thinks we both look cute!

jack cries too much for taking pictures

but here are a few that we've managed to take:

I'm sleeping in the arms of Grandma Stanley whilst papa Jason was out galavanting and enjoying Oregon's Pinot Noir - (my daddy's a lush) (in his defense, he did attend an academic conference)

Mama - that's enough milk. I want PIZZA!

Mom says, "hah! pizza, yeah right." Regardless, this is where I spend most of my day. Aaaahhhhhhh

knock, knock - WHO'S THERE!?!?

LLEGO OCTUBRE !!!

Yes dear readers, October has arrived and some may ask "Why is your dad so content?" Well, dad's birthday is this month and it's beisbol playoff time. I'm sporting my colors (go Yanks!) My parents are doing better and getting used to my wacky nocturnal schedule by catching naps when they can and being more efficient with their time. [Plus, my routine is fairly simple: eat, sleep, soil diaper, look around, repeat...] Enjoy a couple of pictures that truly cannot capture all of our appreciation for such cool grandparents and English friend.

Grandparents (Meyler) out for another visit before I get too big. That's fine with mom and dad as long as I sleep. Always a pleasure to see family...

All the way from the dreary depths of Iceland, Grandpa Stanley was able to escape the confines of aluminum smelting to enjoy some time with me. Well actually, Grandpa Stanley's involved in the construction of an aluminum smelter, but you get the point - the man's traveled far to see his grandson. My parents, again, enjoyed some extra rest and MORE lakkrís.

Don't be fooled by my face here. Our good friend Michael was out for a couple days and made my parents a fabulous chicken curry. We went to Lake Michigan again and I found some solice while driving around in the car seat. I'm really about to cry here because Michael won't let me play with his goatee any more. Please come back soon so my parents can take you to the breweries and I can learn to speak English properly. Enchanté mon ami...

Firsts...not THE FIRST

Aunt Maggie is gone for now - but Jack sure had a good time...even though he can't yet wave good-bye.
Ahh...nice and clean - now let's pee on mom so she has to take a bath too!!
Jack's first trip to lake Michigan...thanks to Mack and Bernadette for the sweet wheels!

My parents are wiped out

Aunt Maggie was out for a short little visit. It was fun, but I can't seem to get the hang of sleeping at night. Regardless, how else am I to celebrate my one month B-day except by eating, crying and gaining weight?!?! Thanks for the visit Maggie. Come again soon with that Dustin fellow...

how strange - i'm sleeping. Il dort! Il dort! C'est vrai!!

My dad's got a big thumb, but I'm closing in on him. ¡Que grande!

Heavy Man, Heavy...

RRRoarrr... Papa Bear's big mouth isn't close to the size of Jack's noggin.

Whoa mama! Jack pesa 8lbs, 4oz. Nosotros, los padres, estamos muy orgullosos de nuestro jalapeño.

Grandma Stanley had to say good-bye for now. We, the parents, would like to reiterate our open-door policy with regards to grandparents who help baby Jack sleep.

Grandma Stanley's here!

Grandma Stanley's in town for a few days. This is wonderful as Kat and I are afforded an extra half hour of sleep. ZZZZZZZ...

Oh and TAK for the Icelandic Lakkrís

Hey all - Jack and family apologize for not allowing more comments. We've changed the settings so that Jack and Mama can now read the commentary during late night feedings. UGH!

I hope all can find a minute to celebrate Jack's one week birthday and the last weekend of summer vacation for his father...
